3. Local Storage
To improve your experience, we use your browser's localStorage to save:
- Your recent trips (so you can revisit calculations)
- Your dark-mode preference
This data stays on your device. You can clear it any time via your browser settings.
4. Server Logs
Our hosting provider may automatically log standard request data (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention. These logs are retained for a limited time and are not used to build profiles.
5. Third-Party Data Sources
To provide live pricing and routing estimates, our servers fetch public data from:
- U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) — weekly retail gasoline prices
- Public mapping/geocoding services for route distances
These requests originate from our servers, not your browser, so external providers do not receive your IP for that data.
6. Cookies & Tracking
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We do not run third-party advertising networks on this site.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Your Choices
You may use the Service without providing any personal information. Clearing your browser storage removes all locally saved data.
