By accessing or using tripgascost.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
TripGasCost is a free, browser-based calculator that provides estimated fuel costs and travel comparisons (driving, train, bus, flight) for informational purposes. We use EPA-style vehicle efficiency data and U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) weekly retail gasoline prices.
3. Estimates Only — No Guarantees
All costs, distances, durations, fuel prices, and recommendations are estimates. Real-world results vary based on driving conditions, weather, terrain, vehicle condition, traffic, and current pump prices. Always verify prices and routes before traveling. We make no warranty as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TripGasCost, its operators, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of, or reliance on, the Service.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) attempt to disrupt or compromise the Service; (b) use automated scraping in a way that imposes unreasonable load; (c) use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
6. Third-Party Data
Fuel pricing data is sourced from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (eia.gov), a public-domain government source. Vehicle efficiency data reflects EPA-style combined MPG averages. We are not affiliated with the EIA or EPA.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service's design, code, and content (excluding public-domain government data) are the property of TripGasCost. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial planning.
8. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time without notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
